Had a shop fire that destroyed nearly everything. My Shopbot was in a different building. I had ordered a lot of different bits and they were in the office. Needless to say, they are now gone. all paper work is also destroyed. I have one 1/16" Ball nose bit that has Premium Carbon Tool sticker on it, but I do not know where I bought it from, but they had a good price on assortment of bits I bought. So where do you get your bits.
Bits needed. 1/16 Ball, 1/8 Ball, and 1/4 Ball. End Mills in 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, and 3/8. V Carve bit 60 and 90 degree. Multiple quantites of each and for different purposes. I need to order tomorrow if possible or pretty quick. I have read a variety of suppliers in different post, but some of the post are dated so....
A just received some from Vortex, but what I am really writing to you for is - You should mention to whoever you call that you had a shop fire and see it they can pass a discount onto you - The bits I just bought from Vortex were 50% off because I went to the IWF, maybe they can offer something like that to you. "Fire Sale?"
Hope all else is well, Tim
I forgot who I worked with around Christmas. Was very helpful. If you have never been through a fire, thank your lucky stars. By helping my wife make something for her class, I hope that it will be the beginning of getting back to normal. I just need some bits.
Martin, I like Centurion end mills as much as Onsrud but only use their LH. While on the Centurion page might as well check out their VBits, Just dialed in their .25"60degree and like it almost as much as my 60 Vortex, but only used it on both sides on this font demo. So Jacks recommendation was good
If a picture is worth a thousand words then i'll just add a few more....these bits are sharp, hold an edge well, last a long time and the owner is a decent guy to deal with. www.centuriontools.com

I use mostly Onsrud, but Gary Beckwith has a really fine selection that are similar, but with longer lasting coatings. Another favorite are the CMT Laser Point V-Bits. They seem to be accurate as far as angle, are sharp and really do come to a sharp point (although, some jobs need a flat point)
