I can't hear my door bell ring when I'm running the tools so much now.

What options are out there for doorbells?

I don't want something so loud that it kills small animals when the tools are not on.

Just curious what you guys are using or have seen.

Thanks,

Andrew

Some sort of strobe that flashes for a several seconds whenever the doorbell rings? Some sort of simple, shortrange "pager" that you can clip to your belt that vibrates when the doorbell rings? http://www.soundclarity.com/productdetail.asp_Q_id_E_771

found one I can plug a light into that will flash when the doorbell rings.

Hmm... now to think of what kind of light will work in my bright shop! I don't trust just a red bulb or something... don't think that will last.. but maybe.

you might try looking for a resource that caters to deaf people. I have seen things you plug into a lamp and it flashes. Or you could find one of those orange revolving lights you see in factories when a heavy machine is being moved it starts up for caution similar to the light you would see on the top of a tow truck. Or go buy one of those small strobe lights like at "Spencer gifts" or some place like that. Or better yet go buy a DISCO BALL!

A strobe is probably going to be the best bet for getting your attention.

Here is one strobe that I found when I Googled "telephone strobe". Maybe it can be adapted for use with a doorbell.
