Whats the difference bewteen a PRS / PRT. I am loking at a PRS STD. Will this do the job for a smaller sign shop?

One uses steppers and the other uses servo's.

If you are a small shop, the steppers should be fine. Depending on how much you are doing, another question is router or spindle.

I don't have a SB (yet) so I could be full of beans on this response.

No servos on any of the machines, they are all steppers.

Hey Devin. I have a PRS standard with a router and do small signs and cabinets parts. The PRS is the new model which has been out for a year or so and the PRT is the older model. There is mostly a large difference in the gantry of the newer PRS and the older model PRT and some other rail updates. The PRS is a great machine if you have the space for a full 4' x 8' machine go for it and don't look back. Good luck on your decision.

The PRT is an older model, not made anymore.

A better question would be what is the difference between the Std and the ALPHA.
