Looking for Rule of Thumb for V-bit Stepdown and Stepover

Transfered all my ShopBot softwares to a new computer and lost my custom bit settings in the process. Can't remember any rule of thumb for determining the stepdown and stepover amounts for a 1", 60° V-bit. Any advice would be appreciated.

I believe the default for mine was .25 depth per pass, and 40% stepover.
