I have started having a delay of several seconds each time the next line of cuts start these files are old files that have never had this problem. This all started just after I updated my computer to service pack three windows XP pro. I started the computer and it said I had updates for my computer so I made the mistake of updating 2 1/2 hours to update now I have this huge delay between changes in direction and the plunge rate while ramping is super slow. I have not upgraded to the latest SB control software for a while so when this file is done cutting I will try that. Anyone have a guess as to what is happening?

Thanks Mike

It is probably running a virus check on it. You need to go in a turn off the startup items and tun off automatic file checker in the windoze virus protection. Not sure where it is but you should be able to find it, possibly by right clicking on a shield icon in bottom right hand corner.

I think you are right Dave it seemed to cure itself after a while. The update must have turned the auto virus scan back on I had it turned off. I need to go back in and turn it all off again. The delays added about an hour to the 2 toolpaths.

The problem is still there it seems to only be occurring during a ramp to plunge on my pocket tool paths. Actually it hapens durring the whole pocket tool path. The profile tool paths seem to be normal. I have run a speed test it is 76% and that is what it always has been. It is happening on new files and old files. I have looked at the tool path setup in Partworks to see if some box is checked but I don't see anything new. I am not sure where to look.

I checked to see if the computer is running something else but I can’t find anything the virus scan runs at 0100 in the morning and is not running.

I called Shopbot and Ryan helped me out for some reason my default setting was changed. He walked me through resetting my default settings and the problem is solved. Thanks Ryan
