What do I have here. I havent used BT32 in a while and noticed after cutting these, table had slight give in X direction, tightened up motor etc, and improved slightly, but not totally. Looked at the pinion when pushing, it, nor the motor shaft seemd to budge, so "slop" appeared to be in the mesh of rack & pinion. Very little time on this machine so wear is unlikely. Hard to notice on the G but the left hand side is straight for about one inch.Any thoughts TIA Dubliner

That is not inherent in a BT-32, mine doesn't do that. Something is still not right. Check the V rollers also, in addition to the rack and pinion. Another thing to look into is your router or spindle pivoting in one direction? Not likely, but then neither is the sort of cut you are getting.. Good luck! D

Does the font look the same if you repeat the cut with the piece in another part of the table? I have had similar things happen and it seems that it was caused by PartsWork and the font I was using.

just for hits and giggles raise the bit by 25" of depth set and run again
with all the rounded corners bit is cutting deeper than told

James, do you mean raise it in the collet, reset and try again?

The unit values seem to be screwey, is there a way to paste them I found then in c/prog/shopbot etc, & I "set up" shopbot choosing PRS STD 4g, as there is no BT323, so thats some of my prob. they should be 18..., but when I reset, they went to 12...I havent had trouble in so long I forget how to fix things, cant decide if thats good or bad :-)

yes, i was looking for resolution settings. commanded to travel .25 actually travels .31 etc. the problem is consistant on depth so i am sure you are on the right track with settings.

Check all things mentioned. Consider installing the next pinion size down to greatly improve resolution. Top speed will be reduced, but accuracy will improve.

I might consider that anyway Robert, however my solution this time was V(values) R(reset) select appropriate model, however, slight glitch in that, Gen 1 BT's Z values are same as X&Y, but reset puts them at Gen 2, which is 28... (?), so if you have a gen 1 and the Leprechauns got into it over St Pats, then look out for that. Robert, I may order the next size down and do a comparitive test to see which is better. Not really worried about speed on the BT so thanks for that. I will give you a buzz when I do that to tweak it. & Thanks to Frank at SB also. I recut the same file after and it was night & day apart.
