I started to cut a file like one I had done in the past. I looked at the toolpath and copied the info over to the new file.

The error I am getting is

Parameter error

Parameter value below range for VS. Setting to lower limit (.05)

This then continues to cut the file but at .05 inches per minute.

I am using an .125 end mill in some high density plastic. My first setting for the bit were 7000 rpm @ .25" per minute. I thought maybe this would be too slow of a feed rate so I moved it to 1" per minute with the same error again.

I have a PRS alpha VS spindle.

What should I try and change.

The

MS line in your file is the move speed.

If it is MS,1,.5

That is one second for x and y, .5 for z

the .05 it is talking about is in inches per second.

Thats the minimum it will accept.

The most likely thing to look at is the speed parameter box. Did you set inches per MINUTE or SECOND?

Gary,

I looked at that box 2 times to see what could be wrong. I guess I needed to see it as you said, is it MINUTE or SECOND? It was second instead of minute. I just ran it in preview mode and it worked fine.

Thanks for your help, you guys are life savers for the new guys!!!!!!!!!!

First time I ever discovered this error. I somehow managed to set that bit at inch/minute. Duh.
