Spindle vs. router

I purchased a PRSStandard Buddy with a PC router. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on router vs. spindle, is it really worth the significant investment to convert the buddy to spindle? Besides longevity of spindle and reduced noise produced by spindle are there any other benefits? Has anyone done a comparison of cut using router vs. spindle? What all is involved in upgrading to a spindle, do I need different mounting brackets and wiring?

I have both and would never go back to the router. I like the fact that you can get any size collets so you aren't limited to certain size bits. plus less noise.
