Fein III does it make a difference ... 6 gal or 15 gal ???

Hi Shopbotters,

There are a lot of posts about the Fein III vac and in looking into them, for vacuum holddown, is there any reason what I would want to spend the extra money for their 15 gallon unit over their 6 gallon one? From the pictures on Amazon, it looks like the top section is the same.

Jim - The tank size makes no difference for vacuum holddown, just buy the cheaper one of the two. Some people even throw the tank away and make their own boxes to hold the Fein motor section.

Before you buy a Fein vac it might be worth considering a setup that uses central vac motors which cost quite a bit less. Forum searches of open source vacuum project, brady vac etc... will turn up quite a few different variations people have made.
