Anybody thought about how to hack apart a legacy mill to make an indexer? I have read the thread about the $ 200.00 indexer and like the idea, just not sure how to get it all hooked up and running since I run mach3 and a assension controller. I do have a 4th axis avalible . And then theres the software issue. what else is there to study up on? Any direction would help greatly.

The legacy is not a good candidate for an indexer mod. It runs on gears and a leadscrew that has built in slop. It is a lousey design and in its present design would not give you the accuracy you need.

I have the legacy 900 and i have all the different addons including the motor drive.

Do you mean you run that on your legacy? Do you have a shopbot?
Give a little more detail about what hardware/software you have cuz i'm confused about what you are trying to mod, a legacy or a shopbot?
