I bought the PRS Alpha 60 x 96 with the automatic tool changer at the wood show in Atlanta Saturday. I know the tool changer is overkill for what I have in mind, but after watching it work I decided to jump into the deep end.

I did cheap out on the vacuum system. I ordered 2 Fein Turbo III’s from Amazon. The Shopbot is supposed to be here in 4 to 5 weeks which will give me time to experiment with the Fein’s.

Now time for my question.
The Feins have a 2 Inch hose, If I pipe both of them into one 4” line, would that give me more vacuum?
If so it would simplify the plumbing.

Thank You In Advance

no you may actually loose some. 4" valves will cost a fortune.

You will have 2X the CFM & pretty much advertised suction (7.3" Hg).

It is a good setup if you realize the limitations - meaning, manage your leaks - including open kerfs and understand what 7.3" Hg means to you the machinist.

First off, I want to thank you. I have read and reread your articles on vacuum systems and dovetailing.

My plans are to make childrens toys to give away. we got some good ideas at the wood show, just walking around and looking at the other cnc booths.

I am also thinking about making some signs and carvings to be autioned off for charity organizations.

I will also be building some furniture for the house.

Thank You everybody for the response on my vacuum question. I am reading every post I can find on the subject.

By the way I got my Partworks Software late yesterday afternoon. Looking forward to learning how to use it.
