you know...SNAP, CRACKLE, POP!

It was set too low and the back lip got caught on a clamp and just cracked to in about 4 pieces. Thank goodness for HVAC tape, temporarily.

I know there have been several designs for dustboots but has anybody uploaded any designs to share?

One of the issues i have is that it is hard for me to get back in and up with a hex key (or pliers) to raise and lower the boot. Does anyone have a solution where you can raise and lower the boot by unscrewing the wingnut thats on there now.

My thought was that if that the clip was modified from what it is now (A) to (B) that would allow it to slide up and down more freely?

What is the consensus on the best design?

Hi Jack,

in response to your query regarding undoing the wing nut that holds the boot up,all I made for this is I cut a slot across the end of a length of 1/2"
pipe, the width/thickness of the wing, and welded a small bar across the other end, in the same direction as the slot to make a T. Works like a charm. If you can't understand me yell out and I will take a photo. By the way, I have a buddy and it is great and I presume it would also suit you.

Cheer,
Roger.

Hi John,

Hope theese photo's make things a bit clearer, if I can attach them, having a few probs. My tool is approx 8" long but you could make it as long as you like.

Cheers,Roger.

I use one of these. Laser cut acrylic, but there's no reason not to cut it from plastic on the cnc.
