View Full Version : Diagram of Vexta Pk296A1H- SG3.6 and Pk266-02A
My old Prt controller burn out. I will use Geckodrive G540 with mach3, I can't find diagram of motors to connect wires. Please help.

TomThese are the folks that make those motors. You can search their site and they have manuals and wiring information.http://www.orientalmotor.com./home.html

The PK296A1A-SG3.6 and the PK266-02 motors should both have six conductors exiting the motors. The Black/Yellow/Green wires go to the 'A' coil and the Red/White/Blue wires go to the 'B' coil.
Use the Black/Yellow wires from the 'A' coil and the Red/White wires from the 'B' coil. By doing that, you'll be wiring the motor half-coil, which will give you much better performance with the Geckodrive G540.
Use a 35 to 48VDC power supply. The PK266 motor, when wired half-coil has 2.2mH inductance, and 32 X SQRT(2.2) = 47.5VDC. The PK296A1A-SG3.6 motor has 7.7mH inductance and 32 X SQRT(7.7) = 88V, but the G540 must be restricted to 50VDC maximum. (The higher the voltage, the hotter the motors will run. The motors are rated to run at 80-C, so they can produce a lot of heat before the insulation is damaged.)
Use a 1.5K current limit resistor on the G540 for the PK296A1A-SG3.6 motor and a 2K current limit resistor on the G540 for the PK266-02 motor.
If the PK296A1A-SG3.6 motor only has the Black/Green and Red/Blue wires, you'll have to wire the motor bipolar series. It will have 30.8mH inductance meaning that it is not suited for use with the G540. Even when used with a G201x or G203v stepper driver, that motor, when wired bipolar series will never match the performance that you could get with a PK296A2A-SG3.6 motor. The inductance on the A1A motor makes the motor sluggish when used with low voltage power supplies.
Thank you very much for all of your helps.
...well what did you end up doing...post photos pls.
