Here is a sign that I made for a sample.
Objective was to make it look old but not totaly weathered, bling to give it a punch.
100% Extira I had sitting around.

Awesome! I really like the crackle paint and the red, green, gold combo. Nice layout and mix of techniques great sample show. My only criticism is that the white looks too clean for an otherwise antique looking sign. Maybe a little glaze or stain to dirty it up?

Thomas,

Good looking samples. You imrove each time I see your posts. I've not used much crackle finish but I think it has real possabilities. One of my friends, Mark Fair, takes his crackle finish to another step by rubbing on a darker brown glaze coat. That gives an effect of age.

Your layout and font concept are also good. I see old man Chapman has got you up to speed on 23K. I know this panel must really pop in person.

Keep up the good work.

Thomas, Your sign looks amazing. Do you have a place to showcase your work? I'm sure you are learning now what is easy money and what takes long. Thanks for your time in posting I really get a lot out of it.

I am custom millworker by trade. Learned trade from old Italians and Germans, Than had my own business. Due to economic down fall and illegal competition in TEXAS went back to work in millwork Co. for someone and hate every minute of it.
Sign business is growing slowly as I do not have as much time to showcase and devote more time to get exposure. Goal is eventually to be back in business.
Rome was not build in one day. Good stable business takes time to develop client base and recognition. Money will come....with time.
I do not want to be in Yugo market but rather Cadillacs.

Samples, Samples & more Samples.

That's what developes skills and makes for confidence. There's so much to learn. I'm snowed in today. It's a good time to try some new idea's!

I've found a treasure trove in fonts. Finding a good script has always been a challenge. There are plenty goon ones here.

We are iced up. So its hard to drive. I still have some scrap and may go down to garage and take advantage of extra time.

There will be a lot of babies 9 months from now.
