I have a customer who wants me to machine a headstone for his dog. Other than stone what material could I use to make this headstone? Of course it will be in contact with the ground and outside. Cost is an issue, but this is negotiable. He is thinking he would like to spend around $150 - $200 for the completed stone. Is Corian or Sign foam or PVC possible choices? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Jim S

Try Corian (or one of the clones) and /or Marble. Both will work well.

Have used marble tile from the big box stores for pet memorials in the past.

We just did two in color core and it went well in every respect.
they were small so we did two for $200 with scrap we had on hand.
have used redwood before but solid surface would be a great choice as suggested. you can buy corian scraps on ebay reasonably as well if you cant get scraps locally.
