Well I was finally able to make it up to Crosscut Hardwoods in Seattle. I picked up a couple of 3/4" sheets of Ultralight MDF to replace my BORG MDF spoilboard.
The old 'board would register 5" on my vac gauge with no material on it, even after shaving a 1/4" off both sides. It would go up to 7" after placing material on it.
I drop the Ultralight MDF board on the bot after painting the edges and I got a zero reading. I spent 5 minutes trying to find the leak that would account for it. I finally put a sheet of OSB on and it jumped to 7".
I was totally blown away. I'm a VERY happy uMDF customer right now. :)
I didn't take the skin off of it. I'm amazed at how porous it is!
