Hi - I'm looking for some vector art files that can be V-carved for the various military branch logos (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard). I know that Vector Art 3D has the highly detailed carvable 3D designs, but I'm looking for simpler 2D designs that can be V-carved.

My Google searches have found plenty of color artwork, but not much that could be easily converted into closed contour vector art. If anyone has any suggested sources, I would appreciate a pointer.

Thanks!

John

Try this site. Just type in the branch that you are looking for.

You can usually pick up any goverment vector from most of their websites you just have to look under multimedia or promotional area.

Here is the .gov vectors. If you are using Vcarve you will want to use the files with b's in the end and eps. files. Good luck.

I just added the missing "e" in the file name to make it an "eps" file. works fine

How did you add the e to the ps file?

Rick:
You can do it one of two ways:
1.) Right click on the icon… a window will pop up with many options, one of which is “rename”. This will highlight the file name and allow you to edit it.
2.) Single left click on the icon followed by a single left click on the file name. This gets you to the same place option 1 did.

After changing the extension (the part of the name after the “.”) a warning box will pop up warning you of the dire consequences of doing so. Tell it ok.

The “.ps” was recognized by Adobe Distiller on my machine, and converted the file to a PDF. Either way I finally found that there were so many open and crossed vectors that they were useless. I landed up doing a screen capture of the pdf and creating my own vectors from the bitmap option in Partworks.

Two more ways:

You can change the extension to .eps when you save the file to your computer.

Or in Windows Explorer click on the file name, press Function Key 2 (F2), and rename the file.

I do know that the military logos where all part of the clipart collection in Corel Draw 8. If you know of any one that has the clipart disk I believe they where in the "Crests" folder.
