I built this Hope Chest for my Daughters upcoming wedding.
I first cut the walnut inlay parts. Then routered the inlay areas in the panels on the ShopBot. Then leaving the panels on the router table i glued in the inlays, let it dry and sanded the panels flat. When dry I reroutered the whole panel with perfect registration between the oak and walnut. The design in the front panel is patterned after the bridge the two were on when he asked her to marry. It has a red cedar floor, but no inside drawers or shelves per Jenni's request. This is the first time I used the Shopbot to do inlay work and I'm pleased with the fit of the parts.

Thanks for the kind words. When prolpe look at my projects I feel a little guilty taking too much credit. The ShopBot makes me look good.

Gary,
Looks great and the details is very nice. Don't cut yourself too short as the shopbot, like any tool, just sits there till you tell it what to do. The shopbot has never built anything that I did not first want to build. Funny how that works.
