my move speed is set at 1.00 and every time I load a part file it jumps to 1.70. I have changed it in the fill in sheet and on the speed tab. Is there a min. for the size of bit or something.

The speed is set in the file. If you're using PartWorks, for instance, it is set in the tool setup on the toolpath tab. The post processor that writes the files you run sets it - you can change it by editing the tool, then recalculating the toolpath.

I have had the same question for some time. Example: if i am running a file with multiple tool paths I run into the following. my move speed on my control computer is set at 4. but in between tool paths and tool changes the move speed reverts to a lower number. Is that number the feed rate established in part works for that particular bitl? the only problem is that its a little time consuming positioning the tool to the proper point for bit change. Thanks.

Hopefully that made sense.

The keypad move speed maximum is set at 4ips in the software. There is no way to change this.

I set my jog speed to 15ips and when I do command line moves, it will move at this speed. The keypad move however is still limited to 4ips.

Hold down the control key in keypad mode and it will jog.

Yes, the control key jogs at 4ips, max. Hard-coded in to the software, not a parameter you can change.

I have my jog speed set at 7 ips. When I use CTRL with keypad arrows it runs at that speed...

The documentation states that the jog speed when using the keypad in conjuction with the Ctrl key is 10ips max.

Right now my jog speed is set at 4 but i do know how to speed it up. But I am happy as i can be with that speed being controlled by the control key. what i hated was moving the x & y axis at 1.7 or similar. I felt like i needed a shave after i got the tool where i wanted it to go.

thanks once again for the education, forum.
