Hi Guys
I need to cut a 3 D file in some 3.00" thick foam and need to use a 0.25 or 0.500 ball mill that is about 4.00" long . Is any of you guys selling something like that , or knows where I can find such a thing ?.

You can get a super extra long 2 or 4-flute 1/2" solid carbide end mill from OBerg Brothers (http://www.obergbrothers.net) It is 6" OAL, with 3" LOC. Onsrud has a 5" long one but it only has like 1.5" LOC and is obscenely priced. Call Andy@OBerg's tell him I sent you.
If 6" is too long you can score and snap the shank off to 5" to give you extra Z room if you need it (PRT).

Stephan, I have had the exact same problem. I had the guys at Centurion cut a standard bit design from a 4" carbide blank as a special order. My bits were end mills, but probably they will do a ball nose if you like. They got my bits made and delivered quite quickly as I recall.
As usual I appreciate Brady's comments and suggestions. Thanks!
Good luck.

Thanks guys . I will check that out in the morning.
Try enco I use lots of their solid carbide stuff. Lots of time they have free shipping.
They have .500" ball mills up to 6" OAL and .250" up to 4" OAL

The ones I spec'd out are available 2 or 4 flute ball as well. Not just square end. Both configs solid carbide.
Do NOT buy any import junk made out of HSS at those lengths.

Thanks Brady that was quick and painless ordering from Andy and it didn't max out the credit card.
