Hi all-
Two situations:
1)
I have an older PRT with updated V4 controller. I use Rhino and RhinoCam to run the ShopBot. I am having trouble with rough cut to finish cut stepping. For some reason, the G0 code and Z axis feed rate are not stated beyond the first cut for Z plunge so I get a prompt that the line is not valid and press enter to skip. I have been going in and hand entering the GO and F portions of the code. This is easy enough but then I have to add the new XY feed rate on the next line which is not as easy on a search and replace edit.
2)
My conntroller arbitrarily gets off kilter and loses track of location, speed and/or only moves gantry in positive direction using keyboard entry, and I have to dump the .ini file and reload my VU settings to get back. I am getting pretty fast at this, but it is not convenient especially when it happens during a job.

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you have a couple things going on...

First, it sounds like your post processor needs tweaking. I would advise seeking someone out using RhinoCAM with a ShopBot & get a copy of theirs to use.

Second, your computer should be free of any & all software not required to run the SB itself. You should run The SpeedTest.exe in the SB3 diagnostic folder to determine your communication efficiency. It should be 70% or more.
