I have tried a couple of 3D carvings just for the practice.
I see how PW 3D will pick up the file and re-size it and generate tool paths.
I have noticed that some carving are "deeper" than others.
Is there a way to manipulate this without a full blown program like Aspire?

You can shallow the depth in Partworks 3d buy unchecking the material lock xyz and manually setting the max that you want the z depth. But you will lose some detail of the project.

do u see anything under model that says scale model z height?
the less height u have less detail
more height more detail
but u can only go so high within material
I have played with PW 3D and carved some headboards. If I change the model Z ht it changes the size of the carving. I wish I could find a way to keep it the same size and and change the thickness.

Uncheck 'Lock XYZ Ratio' on the material setup screen (Step 1) & scale the Z to your heart's content. Keep in mind that it will squash the Z of the model...which is usually OK for most reliefs.

Edit: Looks like Edward already answered this for you.
Thanks Brady! It does change the carving some but this will come in handy.
