OK... so this wasn't real funny when I did it. But now that I'm waiting for replacement parts I can see the humor in it. :)

I was going to capture some video of a customer's panel being digitized. My ground clip got loose and inadvertently grounded out my probe. :(

Wow, that sucks. Sorry, I am not seeing any humor there. Then wait for parts.
Bad day, huh?

Mike glad you have a good humor, seems to be a rare quility to set back and laugh about what is done and over and to move on laughing about it. way much better than being mad and acting like a jerk because of a mishap. I did see the humor also specially because you had a video of it. better luck on the second run when you get your parts.

Yeah... I suppose we've all dodged this bullet a couple of times.

The funny part was I spent 15 minutes getting two HD GoPro cams setup on arms to capture the whole process for my customer... and what I did capture is my own inattention to detail.

Not a huge deal... $50 or so in parts. ShopBot Tech (Chris) was great about getting the parts identified and shipped that same day.

Ya gotta be able to laugh at life. It happens. :)

Hi Mike,

I did something similar with mine, but it tried to bury itself in the material! I was amazed that the plastic didn't break, and all I needed was a new tip!

I see you stopped the video before the colorful metaphors began.

Ouch.

Only reason I haven't yet broken my probe is that I don't get to use it much. But I have done that to too many bits than I care to remember.

I call that one of those "Oh S#!T" moments. Like when the Z axis comes down, and down, and down, and suddenly you realize it ain't gonna stop. "Oh S#!T"!!!
