Hi,

There have have been a number of queries about 'unwrapping' vectors for complex rotary cross-sections on both the ShopBot and Vectric forums. As these look pretty cool and all the solutions offered tended to be pretty complex, I have written a 'gadget' to unwrap the vectors within Aspire (it will run in VCarve Pro but there is not much you can do with the unwrapped vectors).

The main announcement is on the Vectric forum here .. http://www.vectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7364 which has links to the documentation and gadget itself on the main Vectric web site.

The screenshot below shows a heart cross-section blending into a hexagonal one with a 45 degree twist along its length. The vectors for the two rail sweeps were created using the new gadget.

One small step for Vectric, One giant leap for indexing!

This is one powerful tool! Thanks Brian!
