Found the answer ...its vertrics new software...
Q: What program do we need to use your product?
R: If we are talking about .rlf files, only ARTCAM (http://www.artcam.com/) can open this files. However, .stl files may opened with different program such as: ASPIRE (http://www.vectric.com/) , DESKPROTO (http://www.deskproto.com/), TYPE3 (http://www.type3.com/), RAMS (http://www.rams3d.com/), MILLWIZARD (http://www.millwizard.com/), MESHCAM (http://www.grzsoftware.com/), MASTERCAM (http://www.mastercam.com/), ENROUTE PRO (http://www.enroute3.com/), CUT 3D (http://www.vectric.com/) etc..
SOON!!! ARTCLIP PROGRAM (Artclip we be specialized for .vna files of Vectorclip3d) TO FOLLOW.............

Dan,
The only connection I see between this site and Vectric is Aspire and Cut3D will open .stl files. I can't see how you reached the conclusion that this is a new Vectric product.
You may be confusing VectorArt3D, which has merged with Vectric, with VectorClip3D.

You are probably right, Tim...I was on a site I thought was vetrics and found the reference there...

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of having one of those planer sized machines. They use a file extension of .ptn and the software doesn't look familiar. They do have a .stl importer that was $600 to get the add on to their software which I thought was absurd. As far as vcarving, with another add on you could only v carve text. I understand that for some, all the restrictions that machine had with it's software was necessary. Thing is I got real tired of their community telling me it's the only cnc i'd ever need and if i couldn't make it work it was basically because i was an idiot. Now just imagine the only way you could cut anything out was with a 1/8" 4 flute straight cutting bit without being able to modify settings properly say for depth of cut. With that, deflection was horrible.

P.S. I know ShopBot tried to work with that company in developing user friendly software for the Desktop when it was called the Tyro.(SP?) I'm glad for everyone's sake that it didn't happen.

A bit of poking around on Google seems to suggest connections between:
- ArtClip3D
- Type3/3Design/Vision Numeric
- Bision Numeric
I've no idea what the connections are though and know nothing of the products so this is just an FYI for those looking into it.

I downloaded a couple of their free stl files. Everything seams legit but i don't know if i'd shell out all the money for a subscription.

It appears all of their files are from vectorclip3d, and MultiCam Canada is there first distributor. I think I'll stick with Aspire!

It's my understanding that the price includes the first year of vectorclip3d subscription, then it is $275/yr. after, if you want to keep the subscription.

I'll stick with Aspire also. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Guys!
I am working for ArtClip3D Software based in Santa Fe Springs California (www.artclip3d.com/contact) and will be glad to answer any of your questions about our products.
For your information ArtClip3D is a complete CAD/CAM package coming with 150+ files pre loaded and also available on www.vectorclip3d.com with a full access to the complete library of 3D models (1200++).
Vectorclip3D is a partner of our solutions and is based in Gaspesie Quebec. Both our companies are located in North America and provide services for North American customers.
ArtClip3D comes with a full year of access to thousands of 3D models under VNA, RLF and STL formats. ArtClip3D does not import RLF files but does import STL and VNA.
The VNA format bringing a higher level of quality thanks to the polygon creations which is based not on triangles but on squares. Details level is then higher and does not suffer of resizing effect or unexpected holes usually applied on bas reliefs and their resolutions.
All the files downloadable are legit of rights, computed by designers from North America and uploaded on www.vectorclip3d.com which is actually the leader in Clip Art 3D models over the internet in sales and downloads amount.
If I can answer any of the questions you may still have please feel free.

Yes they are legit and their files are safe. After watching a video of their software it doesn't look bad at all but, like any other, would take a pretty good trial run to evaluate fully. A free 1 year subscription to the 3-d art site is a pretty nice hook. Think if Aspire came with an unlimited download license for a year to VectorArt3-D! Like the guys at Aspire I give them credit for bringing out a program at a generally popular price to accomplish a lot of the basic tasks in creating your own projects.
Whether a subscription to the 3-d site on it's own is worth it or not depends on how much 3-d you cut and want/need to use others models instead of your own.
It's just a somewhat different business model then most. Nothing wrong with that if it works!
(And no-I'm not giving up my ACPro yet!!)

Their site shows a PRT with belt box reduction running a file via YouTube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDBXp18RQfY) Looks like Y motor is on wrong side (not that it matters) of the Y car. It's also running on Mach3.
It's nice to see brand loyalty in the community from those who value the hard work of Vectric and VectorArt3D. These guys have been highly instrumental in making 3D accessible to the average guy. True trailblazers in this area of the CNC industry. Plus, they actually listen to what their customers want and deliver - not something typical from other software vendors.
I'm not really a clipart kinda guy, but I think it is a great resource for those who need it.

Hi Jim, ArtClip3D exports DXF3D and STL in binary and/or ASCII formats.
It will import DXF 2D but not export it.

It can't create a 3D model from scratch though can it? It's primary aim is to merge existing models into scenes as I see it.

Wow, suspicion runs thick. It’s just another company trying to do their thing. No big deal, you like ‘em or not have a good experience or not. I don’t see why they should be viewed as a threat or a slight rather than just another resource. The software looks much simpler and streamlined for someone who just wants to cut a 3D file such as on the “planer carver”. Certainly no challenge for Aspire.
Looking at the information there would be one deal killer for me on the software, the package includes “1 USB Dongle…"
Looks like the same subscription model (not to mention the same 3D models) as VectorClip3D.
