Hello,

I just took over our schools ShotBot and trying to make it come back to life. I teach high school agriculture mechanics where students build and fab a lot of different projects. Our machine does not have any bits, are there any suggestions on what bits to get? Also, we have the older PartWizard software and I'm having a little trouble importating files and joining vectors. Any and all help will be much apperciated!!!!

Thank you so much!!!

What are you wanting to cut with the shopbot?
That will influence the type of bits that you buy. Starting out with the shopbot in my school I bought the falling: 60 &90 degree v bit, 1/8 & 1/4 down spiral bits 1/8 &1/4 ball nose bit, 1/8 tapered ball nose bit and a 3/8 down spiral bit.

I can't speak for the wizard software as we were using both artcam and partswork software.

Hi,

Here is the location for current software(Free Download): http://www.shopbottools.com/mSupport/controlsoftware.htm

And they also have a good starter kit for the bits located here and about half way down the page:

Let us know how thing are going and what you apply in the classroom. Sure wish I had this back then!

And another move I would make is to call Shopbot and explain your situation.
