I'm going to purchase a 8' powerstick to increase my cutting area (yeah should have just bought a regular bot in the first place - too late now:o ) anyone using this size powerstick? Do I need to add additional support/weight to the base of my buddy to help it cope when the table is at the end of it's travel? Any issues with the powerstick bending/warping over time?

Not using a buddy but they require an additional in and out feed support. Don't quote me, but i believe it's an extra $395. Go check the current price list.

Hi Brian, sorry about the late reply. I have 8 ft power stick attache to my Buddy. It works just fine, but it will (in my opinion) need the additional support rails on both ends of the Buddy.

I had to spend some extra time to vertically adjust the support rails to the same level with the rollers on Buddy frame. Also check carefully, that Your Power stick upper surface will be at the same level with the rollers so that they will all make a straight surface. After surfacing, the final result will be just as good as with the smaller stick.

appreciate the replies:) I have the long stick now but have not used it yet as my shop needs to be rearranged to allow for the longer work surface. I think the buddy is great but if I had it to do over again I'd have bought a larger shopbot.
