I'm trying to run my PRT and not getting anywhere.
I Turn on the machine zero x & y off proxs. Zero z off z zero plate.
Start running a program and the machine stops.
Gives me a message
"Tool Stop Button On"
"Current line 303"
"What next - Quit or Close & Exit"
Input 4 is flashing red.
I've reset the machine and same thing happens.
I've turned everything off and tried again, Same thing!
Any ideas??? :confused::confused::confused:

4 Hrs later, 2 margaritas, Pulled what little hair I had left out, Kicked the dog, Yelled at the wife, I found the problem. Not to long ago I had remounted my spindle higher up. Now when I go to cut something with small dia cutter, as was the case today (.062 dia) I was short on Z travel. The program made a Z cut at line 303 that was to far to move and overloaded the servo driver causing the error I was gettting. Remounted the cutter 1/4 inch further out of the spindle and the program is running fine. What finally tipped me off was that my warm-up program ran with no problems. That got me to thinking instead of throwing things. Once I started thinking it all fell into place. Temper is a bad thing!

:o Been there too. I recently changed out my prox sensors and forgot to reset the height on the far Y axis target bolt. After about four attempts at surfacing my spoilboard and having the machine stop at about the same spot along the back of the table, it hit me that the new prox was hitting the side of the target bolt. Lucky I didn't snap off the prox sensor!

Going on twelve years and stuff still happens from time to time. :)

I had the exact same problem. I ran out of Z at the same point in a ramped cut. I just needed to extend the bit out a smidge. Cutting our vacuum table now!

Same here. I ran out of Z on a very gradual slope. The place it reported the error was a little different each time. I went upstairs and drank some "thinking juice" (Coors) and suddenly realized what happened.

I wonder if it would be possible to scan the cut file for max z depth and run a z travel test at a safe x,y before trying to execute the entire file.

...Kicked the dog, Yelled at the wife...

Sounds like you need to dole out some cookies for the dog & make the wife a lil somethin' on the machine... :D

Next time instead of "Kicked the dog, Yelled at the wife" you probably would be better off if you..."Kicked the wife, Yelled at the dog" lol

The problem is that while the machine is running you can't hear the Z topping out and you get those errors. Some have recommended a little light that trips when you get close to reaching your limit. Thats a good idea i just never implemented it.
