Changing Computers

My shopbot computer wouldn't boot yesterday morning. After blowing it out and checking all connections inside the computer it fired up. Since this computer is 10 years old I am thinking about buying a new one and use this one as a backup. Now to the question

I have a prs Alpha with an automatic tool changer. It took a good deal of time to get the shopbot control software set up for the tool changer. My plan is to install the control software on the new computer then copy over any setup files from the old one.

By the way the old one has XP and the new one will have Windows 7

Has anyone done this and did it create any problems?

In your case, save from the old computer, then restore to the new one. If you dont have the ShopBot Link. then ignore those sections.
