This was being cut with a Woodline 1 5/16" roundover bit
Video that plays using Quicktime (http://www.222artisans.com/images/indexer/VID%2000005.3GP)

Hi Randall,

I hadn't realised you had joined the vectors - very cool!

When i looked at the picture i figured it was just a right hand twist and a left hand twist made as 2 seperate files till i watched the video.
How did you create the file in the first place? Was it a 3d file? How di you link the 2 (or one) path?
What program did you use to create this in the first place? Where was your Zzero point in the center or on the surface of the material? Very cool Randall.

Each spiral was done with 3 passes to reach the full depth of 0.625". No 3D work involved, just the magic of a roundover bit.

I did one set of vectors and mirrored them and then joined them.

I set Z-zero on the column surface. The material if just a common pine fence post. I don't want to experiment with a $100 hardwood glue-up until I've built up some confidence.

Randall,
What kind of machine is your indexer mounted on? I have a Buddy 48, do you know if i can mount an indexer on it?

We have a PRTalpha 48x48 and ordered the indexer with the machine. Haven't used it for the past 4 years. It was time to dig it out.

I haven't had a chance to see a Buddy in person. Check with Shopbot about an indexer for the Buddy.
