On this cabinet i will be building I would like to achieve a finish similar to this picture. I like the variation of the darker shade in the carvings and wondered if anyone could tell what was used for the finish? I also like the glossy finish.
I don't think it is a gel stain as the gel stains i've worked with all are "muddy" and this looks like a even coated stain. I realize this is walnut and i will be using maple but what i'm after is the contrast and the darker carving details.
