I am looking for a file of Acanthus leaves. I'd like to carve some of the classic design into the back panel of a deacon's bench I plan to make.
Can any vectored image be imported into the shopbot software or is there something particular I need to know?
Thanks,
Andrew

You can load just about any vector format into partworks. Partworks3D is a different story, must be a 3D type file.
It seems like woodcarvers are usually started on Acanthus leaves (hand carvers). When I joined the woodcarving guilld here, almost 20 years ago, this was the required first carving. It seems like patterns should be everywhere. I had a look around and they seem rather scarce. I just traced this one. Check it out. There are so many variations of Acanthus leaves out there that this may not be what you were looking for. I just took a shot.
OK, file is too big to upload here, although it is not all that big. If you want the file, send me a PM with your email and I will send it.

Andrew:
Here is a file I've shared before... it's a 2D v-carve with a lot of 3D appeal. V-cut around the leaves by selecting the border on either side of the leaves as well as the leaves. I use a start depth of .05" for a look similar to a pyramid cut... this depth will change if you scale the drawing. The attached drawing shows what you can expect with a 120° bit. A 60° bit in .5" material gives a appealing pierced look.
If you find you can use this you are welcome to the file for any use, personal or comercial.
