I need to design a booth or some fixtures for a show in a couple days. In the past I have used a plastic folding table with a table cloth and some cedar fence boards made into panels to surround the plastic table. I need something better to display my products. I like the rustic look so I want to make it from cedar rough cut boards or plywood with a little stain.

I need the whole thing to knock down into panels for storage. I make boat parts for fishing so I was thinking of designing a table for the front that looks like a boat hull from one side I am just having a hard time designing this in my mind so I can get it down on the computer anyone have any ideas or links they can share that may inspire me I am running out of time to make this thing.

This is what I have used the last 3 years.

Thanks Mike

OK, you could make the booth like the stern maybe the company name like a boat name. Thin panels could be formed around a thin frame creating some convincing curves. Maybe some eyelets on the edges to fasten them...

It may be a little simpler to portray the stern. I see a couple of panels that fit over/in front of your table. Where the boat name and registration would be Miller Marine. If you want to go all in, build a table that slots into the two panels that forms your desk. PM me if you want to talk further about the design and how to make it portable. I build theater and industrial stuff all the time.

I was not clear I need the bow because one of my products is a bow mount anchor roller and I need to display it. It is not clear in that picture but I have a bow display on that table on the left side but it is just the top where the roller mounts. I am going to build a podium style stand with this bow top I have and try and make it look like the bow of a boat. I am also building a new table and a rack to hold some other parts.

Thanks for the suggestions I have waited until the last to build this display so hopefully I can get it done in the next couple days.

Michael,
here is what i would do. First off, i don't know aft from stern so i'll say front back top bottom.
First for the top of the table i'd cut the top to resemble the top view of a boat.
On the underside of the top i would make a 3/4" wide dado to accept a 3/4 plywood.

Then for the front skirt of the table (side of the boat) I would take another piece of plywood and paint a design that looks like slats on a wooden boat. On the back of that piece I would make a series of kerfs maybe 1/2" apart about halfway down the length of the board so that it turns into "bendable plywood" so that you can bend it to fit into the curved dado you made in the underside of the top.
When you put the two pieces together it will look like a boat from the front with the curved hull. You could possibly carry the theme partially around the back if you wanted and a flat back on the end with the company name like the name of a boat. Then make whatever kind of legs you want for support.

For that matter you could put this all on top of a folding table for support and the design would hide it all. It would look like a boat hull, come apart for easy carrying and i think is a cool design.

Mike how about something like this (but of course much simpler) that could be KD type. A smaller version could be on the table for your neat bow anchor product. Russ

In many jurisdictions, the fire marshal comes in and checks all booths for proof of fire rated materials only. If it's not there and/or you can't provide it, poof, you're kicked out before the show starts and you're still on the hook for your space rental fee. They have a tendency to look more closely at custom and "home made" setups. Just something to think about in case you're not aware of it.:(

We do a lot of trade shows and you can't have something with gas in it at most of the shows.

No issues with either of the above at this Sportsman Show it is full of boats Quads you name it. Guys doing carvings and such I have never had a problem and my booth has always been homemade I am just trying to make it better.
