Does anyone have any base pricing for 3d cutting? Material is to be High Density Urethane. I know this is kind of vague but I am just trying to get a ballpark figure. I have attached an image of a ceiling medallion as a reference to the level of detail that we are trying to achieve.

It really depends on what you need to charge and what your local market will bare. I charge $1/minute for consumer one-time carvings. For repeat customers, their charge per minute will go down on subsequent work. For wholesale customers, who will be providing a specific amount of business within a given time frame, I will give a discount to them on cutting/carving work.

On top of the $1/minute are design, material prep, hold down fabrication, etc. This is charged the shop rate plus materials.

Time... What size is this medallion, Ballpark...what I would do..

example if the the size is 24 inches in dia. I would use a 1/4 in bit being HDU I would only do a finish pass, I would make a finish file and on the first cut use a larger bit then rewind put in the finish bit I needed and cut the finish pass.. as you are only taking off 6 to 8 % of the material its not hard on the bit.
I would do this in the software to get a relative time.. hope this helps..
