I have a PRS Alpha with a spindle.

Friday afternoon I started the bot and ran the spindle warmup routine. It kept running and when I tried to shut it off the control software was locked up. I restarted the computer and the bot several times but every time I started the spindle it locked up.

I called Shopbot but they had closed for the weekend. I left a message and continued to unplug and replug all the connections I could find.

The next time I tried the spindle warmup it worked.

Shopbot returned my call Friday night (Thanks Shopbot I was really pleased to get a reply on Friday NIght. I don't know of any other company that returns calls over the weekend) I thanked him and told him everything was ok.

It worked fine all day Saturday but Sunday the problem returned. I plan to call them today but I was wondering if anybody else had ever had this problem and if so what you did to fix it.

Thank You in advance
Jerome

Is it giving you an error message on your speed control?

Does the spindle shut down once you have restarted the software?

I had some problems to that end but the restarts always shut the spindle down.

I have had comm errors that show a message. They always show up when running a file. This one just locks the computer up when the spindle is turned on for warmup or to run a file.

The spindle continues to turn until the power is shut off. I have to use task manager to get out of the control software then reboot the computer.

The Speed control reads 6.0, but no error message.

It is working properly now but I don't know what caused it or if it will happen again.

thanks for the reply
