SB3 locks up on file stop/pause

Weird,

As far as I know I have not changed any settings, but whenever I try to pause a running file with the stop button or spacebar SB3 locks up. I get the "stopping..." dialog but it never progresses and the z does not retract. I have to go to task manager and force quit SB3. when I restart the prog it works fine though I have lost my XY zero.

Any thoughts?

The pause doesn't always work as it should for me either. This seems to be an issue in the newer versions of SB3. It started happening on my last upgrade on the shop computer with the improved 3-d viewing screen version. I'm hoping they get it fixed soon.

I just ran into this this weekend. I needed to stop some files and about 75% of the time it worked but other times it would lock up.

Its scary on the Buddy that the spindle does not stop when there is a comms failure as there is no hard wired stop/panic button.

I am using (I think) v3.51, not sure what version we're up to now but i have never had that problem.

A question, when it does lock up and do you lose your X,Y and Z? If so, how do you get it back? I have a specific way I do it but i wondered about others?:confused:

When it locks up I do lose the x,y,z but I write them down and can reset by doing a minus x,y move of that number that will rezero the x,y and I touch off the z.
