Does any one know how to contact anyone who has the pattern for the emergency shelters.... Just got back to shop from show. Had to pass through two towns that have been wiped out by tornatos this area went from 70 degrees down to 30 degrees.. Power company will not be able to get power back on to most of the area for a month. This area still will have 60 more days of 30 degree weather. Would like to volunteer to cut those shelter like they sent to haiti that was made from ply wood by cnc.

Let me know asap

Hi Eugene,

That would be very cool! The link that Adrian posted will take you to a page with links to the files in a handful of formats including sbp, dxf, and Partworks files. Cutting instructions are available in a Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1P_CmUJor1bx9X5sFuUEcV88ZUnETer_-GESMonNz8nw/edit) and assembly instructions are available in Make Projects (http://makeprojects.com/Project/Build-a-Makerspace/1390/1).

FYI, Robert's in Haiti until Thursday helping setup Shelters

I showed an overhand on the ends. It's a random scale, no specific overhang amount.

Thanks bill. And all the others... I have sent copies of the pictures and info to our governor the ky national guard, the emergency management team and to the county judges: Offering my shop and the cnc for free to make the shelters for the families that have lost their home.
On my way back from our show this last weekend. (today when i started home) i went through one of the towns it looked like a war zone. Had i not know it was a storm i would have sworn that some army had been firing on the town with howitzers and that the air force HAD dropped millions of bombs... Starting about ten miles out i started noticing trees down. The closer i got the more trees were down to a point no trees were left standing.. Part of homes were wrapped around the guard rails. Some homes nothing was left but the foundations.. A whole town was destroyed. I had not seen damage like that outside of a war zone...
Again thanks everyone...
Hope all good luck this year.

The Machipongo Shelter: This 10’ x 15’ shelter includes a door and windows at both ends,
corrugated metal on the exterior and plywood on the interior walls. Ten of the Machipongo Shelters will fit in a standard 20′ shipping container

The Exmore Shelter: This is our original 10’x16’ shelter that comes with plywood side walls and ends with vents and doors but has no sheathing on the inside and uses a commercial grade tarp for the roof. This shelter is easily upgraded with metal roofing.

For those that have already built one, what did it cost you in materials?
