Hey guys -- thanks in advance for answering!

2010 PRSAlpha - bank repo - they cut power wires in the control box...

Source #1 is 230 V - 3 phase (no problem)

However, Source #2 says 220V Single Phase --- yet.. the Wiring diagram paper shows source #2 as being 110V single phase..

Any help?

thanks Brent - 949-929-4986 in case there is a good samaritan working late!

It would be better to post some pics, but by your description source 1 should be 3 ph power to power the VFD (to the spindle). The diagram should confirm that it goes thru a 3 phase contactor (as a safety interlock actuated by the ESTOP). What you describe as source 2 most likely is control box power. It is fused, filtered and then goes to the Alpha Stepper drivers. It should be (in a US model) 110V 30A. Both are usually fed by #10 SO cord. 10-4 for the spindle (VFD) power and 10-3 for the control box power.

Thanks for the reply -- the pics show the control box - the question is in the upper left corner - there are posts where the power comes in.

You can see where the 230V 3 Phase wires are connected (we wired those in) This is labeled on the board/box as SOURCE #1.

The Question is about SOURCE #2, just to the right of the main power-- you can see a blue component with a post, and a white/steel post next to it.

This is labeled Source #2 and says 220v, 1 phase. However, the wiring diagram (piece of paper) shows Source #2 as 110V 1 phase....

Thanks again for reviewing - and for any input/advice.

I am fairly sure that I gave the correct info in my first post. L1 should be 110V hot with the 110V neutral to the right of it.

That said, you should call in the ShopBot with your control box # and get the real answer from the electronics Guru in the morning. Better to be safe than sorry.
