I have been working on developing signs today and have had two different signs come up with the same issues...the signs are created and edited in Illustrator CS3 and then saved as AI files and placed within the Partworks 3.5 software. I am getting a radial pattern (see pics) once I do the preview of tool-paths. This happened on both signs I have worked on today, the first one I thought it must have some errant vectors from the stock house so I did a second sign different source and no problem at first...then I changed from "Use flat area clearance tool" to not using and did the preview this time it came up again and almost looks like a radio wave pattern...anyone have any thoughts as to what this is??

Under the Edit menu, check 'Select all open vectors' and then 'select all duplicate vectors' and delete any and all selected vectors from each menu choice.

The scroll on the left must be different than the one on the right. Just select a few things at a time to toolpath and you will find the area.
I am guessing you are just vcarving the whole sign. Depending on if it has an odd or even number of parts to a pattern, vcarve will carve on the inside or outside of a given area. I think it is carving outside of that area on the left.
Considering your from Texas if you want to email the file to me I will help you work through it.

usually something like that means a crossed line or overlapping lines.

Thanks Brady, I have done that and was surprised to not find any duplicates or open vectors...even selected "all" in Illustrator and nothing.

Yes, I am v-carving the entire sign, originally I had an outside perimeter line drawn and it v-carved the outside of the letters along with a flattened surface til the next object, I deleted the line and re-did the tool paths then it reappeared. I would be grateful if you would take a look at it and let me know what you find. Will email it shortly. Thanks!
