Once I even ended up in a holding cell at the border crossing to Norway, because the customs officers just wouldn’t accept that someone would drive all over Europe simply to take photographs of traffic signs.
I'd love to listen to a conversation between Ralf and Joe Crumley.
That sounds like the first time I went to Disney World -
I spent most of the time there photographing their amazing sign work.
There's tons of 24k gold leaf work, glue chipped glass, sandblasted, carved, faux finishes, 3D modeling, basically every old sign painter technique can be seen there.
If you're really into signs, that alone is worth the price of admission.
Hey Randall I'm wondering if my favorite place to eat in Berkeley is still in business?
It was called Aye Caramba! They had the best burritos ever.
This goes way back to when I was living in my Chevy van and getting free bagels and tea from the Berkeley Hostel... and painting window splashes throughout California for an appliance distributor!

That restaurant is no longer there, but there are still people living in vans. Who knows, some of them might even be the same people you knew back then.
