Er-25 collets

Does any know of a place that has reasonably priced er-25 collets and clamping nuts?

I dont know alot about spindles (I have a Colombo 3.5hp)but would any er-25 collet and collet nut fit a Colombo?

Depends on what you call reasonable. I use only precision collets and cap nuts. While there are plenty of cheap import collets around they wil have more run out. More run out means less tool life, lower bearing life and degraded cut. They also don't last as long. Don't ask me how I know. I buy mine through my Onsrud dealer and get better results and lifespan.

Andy - Thanks very much for that reference back to the discussion on spindle collets - especially the advice from Brady:

"When you go to put a tool in for the 1st time, keep in mind that you have to twist the collet into the nut, then screw the nut onto the spindle...then insert tool and tighten. The screw-in collet was not immediately apparent to me..."

I could not understand why there was such a gap between the end of the collet and the nut - I did not realize the collet snaps into the nut - DUH - I can see clearly now. Hopefully that reference might help others to ensure their collet is seated properly in the nut. Another embarrassing admission! Thanks again. Pete

I bought a set of ER-25 collets for about $128 from KBC Tools (http://www.kbctools.com) and like 'em.

OOPS! I found them. Just had to dig a little deeper. Looks like they have at least 3 different sets.
