Got this email this morning from dropbox. I already had about 19 gigs with all the referrals so I only gained a gig. but this saves me 85.00 a year.
Hi Steve,

Let’s be real -- you’ve got a ton of cred for being one of the earliest Dropbox users on the block. For sticking with us for all this time, we’d like to give you your 20 GB subscription for free! And since you also helped kick the tires on Packrat, you'll get that, too.

No fine print, no catches. You’ll no longer receive a bill for your current Dropbox account. It’s yours for good!

Hmm, my wife got an email today saying her 50GB "Pro" account was being upgraded to 100GB for no charge. They also asked her to get friends to try it for free also, so apparently they are doing some kind of marketing blitz.

I'd be excited about it if I hadn't just ponied up for their "team" account so we are already sharing 1,000GB. Not sure why she got the e-mail at all.

BTW Dropbox works great and is a really easy way to back up important data files whether you are using the free or paid version. It's even better that you can access your files from any internet-connected computer, and there are aps for iPad - I can look up all my photos, current or old client drawings, etc. from my iPad - priceless!

Dropbox also makes it really easy to share files between users. I started with the free 2GB account - now we use it so much we ended up going with the team account.

well I did find out they did away with the 10 and 20 gig accounts so that may be why. They could not just dump me since I paid in advance.
