pinion gear settings

Hi,

I am a hobbyist and have had my PRSstandard ShopBot for two years. When I need to fix something I am lost. I just changed all four pinion gears, easy job. The problem I have in that my machine came with a 20 tooth gear on the Z axis, ShopBot sent me four 25 teeth gears. I need to change some setting for the Z axis to use the 25 tooth gear but can't find where to change it or what to change it to.

Can someone help with this?

they shipped those for my alpha. I lost way too much power changing them. I had so little torque that they were almost useless.

Don't be expedient. Wait & get the 20T for the Z and install it. You would have to move the motor itself and mess around with it to get the right pinion lash if you install the 25T.

PRTAlphas with AS911 motors use 20T pinions on all axes.

PRSAlphas or PRTAlphas upgraded to ASM98AA-T7.2 motors use 30T on XY and 25T on Z.
