Folks -

Fumble fingered me dropped a spindle insert (HSK, I think) and DINK - it broke. Any ideas for sources on the West Coast - sooner rather than later? I am using my spare 1/2" one, but don't want to get caught any shorter than what nature has already punished me with....

TIA

MSC will get one to you quickly. It's the ER 25 collett. Several sizes and manufacturers available.

HSK is a lot different then an ER 25 Collet system. If you indeed broke your HSK spindle insert then you need to know what size the HSK spindle nose is and if it is a manual C or the auto actuated F model. HSK was started in Germany so Guhring based in Brookfield, WI, would be a good start for replacement parts.

John,
I assume that you are referring to the spring collet, correct? If so, it is a standard ER-25 size collet. You can get one directly from ShopBot, www.use-enco.com (http://www.use-enco.com), www.msc-direct.com (http://www.msc-direct.com) and other sources.
