Made these wall hangers on the Bot. Luan internal skeleton, 1/8'" birch back 3/16" hardwood face with pocketed accents and Mahogany 1/2" ply mounting board. Cut the mounting clips out of .177" acrylic. They are roughly 48" tall. Maybe one day I will make a ride-able version.

I don't surf but you just pushed my jealous button. I'd love to sink my teeth into projects like that.
