Purchasing Equipment from auction

Does anyone have experience purchasing equipment from auction sites such as irsauctions.com? Equipment would need to be shipped via flatbed truck and I have not done that before - any ins and outs, suggestions, or things to watch out for?

Hey. I have bought from auction sites couple times. I haven't bought from IRS auctions only exfactory auctions. My experience was great. I asked for a shipping and crating quote as I am in Ontario Canada. They gave me printed quote for my records and items were crated and shipped perfectly. Just make sure you read up on any extra fees. Some charge a surcharge for winning the auction. I have tried to buy from IRS and did find them harder to commit and provide shipping company. They sent me names of local guys to auction site for me to contact. Ex factory took care of everything. I think it depends on auction as well. Some companies (auctions) that are only downsizing are willing to crate and ship for a fee with their own shipping employees.
Just make sure all is in writing and be aware of any fees on top of winning bid.
Shame to see so many companies closing.
