Sigh... some people can hang a worn out weedeater on the wall and thousands gasp and call it art. I can hang a Rembrandt on the wall and I'm told it clashses with the curtains.

I get it often. After cutting out parts from a sheet of material I have had neighbours and customers that drop by think my "waste" is cool looking and would be great painted and hung on the wall?????

At $199 per stump what would a cord of firewood sell for?

At $199 per stump what would a cord of firewood sell for?
I don't want to know... I probably burned several million $ in the last few years.

I checked out the seller's web site . They state that it "Arrives fully assembled". That's a plus :D.

How much would you charge to model this log in Aspire, how long to cut on your indexer, and time to apply the natural looking finish? Will your indexer handle an item this large? Don't forget the material cost.

It is funny but if you look closer they really seem to be well executed and if you tally the processes required from getting the logs, rough cutting, jigging to make repeatable parallel top and bottom cuts (they are made to sit together to make larger tables), debarking, shaping, sanding, at least a couple coats of oil, promotion and sales stuff, etc, then punch in your shop time and profit then $199 doesn't seem that bad.
Sorta like, "That's a lot. All you have to do is punch a button."

As I looked through the bullet points I had to do a double take on the 6th one... Imported? Really? We can't even make logs in the US anymore?
• Solid cypress wood.
• Due to the natural wood used, no two tables are alike.
• 12.5"diam. x 19"h.
• Arrives fully assembled.
• Wipe clean.
• Imported.
• See what west elm is doing to help you get a little greener.

Imported!!! What do we have Florida for? - well, it kind of is Ir's own country...
I was also intrigued by the 12.5" diameter - Pretty uniform trees!

Florida is here to tell you you are not allowed to cut cypress. You are only allowed to take fallen trees and sinkers. Look around the web for cypress dealers (not general lumber yards) and you'll find some very interesting people as well as information.
