Prt 2004
dual z routers
4g drivers
Shopbot 3.6.xxx control software

Everything has worked wonderful for 8 months and then it hic cupped

Problem.
Seems we have a glitch. Monday morning fired up computer and something went wrong. The control software no longer acknowledges an accessory Z.
Will not trigger the x limit switch
Moves the opposite direction than commanded.
and the 4 little green lights on the panel....only the y limit switch works.

Possible solutions tried.
Of course restarted and rebooted many times. No avail
Tried to reestablish new settings like when you set up a new computer with control software. I can get through the entire sequence but seems like it wont accept or save them. Tried to reinstall the control software without uninstalling the corrupted software. Get the same problem. Have saved all cutting files and such but wanted to get the forums take on our situation.

The only preliminary symptoms I can get from the operator was that it shut down "funny" on Friday. And when he fired it up on Monday...it put up a box asking if this is the first time running the software....he can't remember what he pressed. (Who knows what went on)
I also got a memory module alert reading error. Then I got an writing error once. Can not duplicate errors consistently.

Any help or recommendations are helpful.

An erroneous shutdown or static probably corrupted the ini file.

Use the [U][R] command to reinstall the default settings for your 4G PRT. Then use [V][D] to enable 4 axes and then go to [V][U], verify the proper unit values for the A axis. Lastly, go to [V][S] and[V][R] and set the speed and ramp values for the A axis to either the Z defaults or your preferences.

When you have it running the way you want, save a backup as per this: http://www.shopbotblog.com/index.php/2011/09/the-5-minute-software-fix/

IF all of the above are set properly, then look at [V][I] and make sure that driver channel 4 is set to "A"

It works if channel 5 is set to A. I put her through her paces and she acted right. IF some of the earlier stuff wasn't set right I may need to look at that so it works on Channel 4. If you see no problems we will continue on this path. If you think problems may occur we can go back and take a look at the earlier settings.
