It is not listed in the pricing as available but does the buddy 32 come available with the 2.2hp spindle motor?
Has anyone had problems with getting answers to emails sent to Shopbot?
Thanks, Joe

Joseph...
The 2.2 HSD Spindle is a common (and my preferred) option for a cutting head on all the Buddy models.

I just got my BT48 less than a week ago with the 2.2HP spindle because I wanted less noise than a router, more variety of cutter options with the ER25 collets, and obviously more power than a comparably rated router.

That's my 2¢ worth!

I work exclusively with hardwoods, black walnut and alder. In some of my v-carvings i have noticed that i get some chipping. To counter this i have slowed down my feed and speed rates. Other then noise, what benefit would the spindle do for me? fyi i have the buddy 32prs

My cut quality in hardwoods improved noticeably when I upgraded from the PC to a 2.2HP HSD spindle.

i wish you had not said that David, my credit card is already feeling the pain. In all seriousness that is something to think about.

I have had the 2.2 hp spindle for 6 years - very happy with my purchase. It;s much quieter than a router and the cut quality is excellent.
