I just recently purchased a used 48 x 96 prs standard. I am almost done with my shop remodel to fit the bot in, the current cables that came with the bot have seen better days. The previous owner did not really have them protected, rather than have problems i was planning to start out with new cables. I am just not sure how long i need them, what length cables does every one else have? Where is your controler box located?

The cables with my PRSStandard were all about 20' I have the box under my bot. I wish i had about 6' more for when I need to get in the box for whatever. I have eChain so I may just need more wire. http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/messages/28/48235.html?1259590564

In the pic labeled "E-Chain dust collection along X axis." you can see the control box by the table leg.

When you do replace the wires I would highly recommend you pay a few pennies more a foot and get shielded wire. I had false proxy alerts all the time. After rewiring with shielded cable and grounding the shields I have less interruptions. I shielded the motor and proxy wires.

I was going to get them strait from shop bot, are theirs not shielded? I am waiting for the echain to arrive any day now and i am going to put the controler about 4 feet away behind a wall so that i dont have to worry about dust (i have the controller that looks kinda like a computer case).

Unless they have changed recently the cables from there are not shielded.
